We went to Korça to meet Spiro Naumin, 86 years old, and Liljana, 77 years old, two spouses who have been married for 58 years.

Their relationship, as they claim, has unfortunately broken down. The elderly say that they have not decided to divorce, but to no longer live together in their apartment.

For some time, each of them lives in separate rooms, while Spiro asks his wife to vacate the room and leave.

"In 2023, my husband and I were with the eldest son because he was in Germany and I came here to eat breakfast. I used to go there and go there. At 6:30 when I come I find the couches pulled out. My husband had taken me out with a worker. We went very well before. Even the words he says, I have made many concessions because the man does not tell his wife to be a servant, nor to act like that, I am the owner. Why is he the owner and I am not?", says mother Liljana.

Liljana, on the other hand, says that the property is shared, so she has no intention of running away. The 86-year-old claims that the lack of intimate relationship for almost 20 years has led to this situation.

"I live here, the lady lives there. I have two houses. It was the wife. The woman was, let her remain a woman, but she remains on paper. I have 6 entries, how can I stay here in this room? I mean to isolate myself? She is on her own, she is helped when she is loaded, her grandchildren call. I wash myself, I take care of myself", says Mr. Spiro.

While according to Liljana, she could not meet the needs, as she was busy raising her grandchildren.

"I carried 4 children. I couldn't afford to stay with him. I would keep the children, I would stay with him... to have intimate relations with him. I was very tired, I had to take care of the children. Church and shop. Let him search. He didn't ask for anything either. It was enough not to preoccupy with household chores. Now he remembered. He listens to sex. Keep your voice down so your grandchildren can hear you, it's a shame. No one is making noise, he is free himself, but don't ask me for chickpeas on a skewer", says mother Liljana.
