The confessions of the residents of the building burned down the day before (Thursday, September 14, 2023) on Kavaja Street in Tirana are very moving.

The father of one of the people who lived in this building said that his son had bought the house with a loan.

"I have work nearby, as soon as I saw the smoke I came quickly because I said it must be the building where my son lives. As soon as I got here, the firemen had not yet arrived. The fire started on the second floor and quickly burned the upper part. There is no more touching moment, the house with a loan, with this income it will take two lifetimes of work to buy the same house again", said the resident.

Another resident said that he still does not know where he will live. But he hopes that there will be help from the state.

"70% was damaged, three of us lived in that apartment. As I saw, the fire came from the second floor and then exploded and burned the upper part. My room was burnt with all the furniture. 70% are unrecoverable. So far they have not told us where to stay, let's see what they will promise us. A doctor lived on the last floor that was completely burned, but I don't remember his name," he said.
