Ex-girlfriend confesses / How McGonigal used her birthday to get money from

Charles McGonigal's ex-girlfriend, Allison Guerriero, has shown how the former FBI official took the money from businessman Agron Neza, on behalf of the Albanian government.

She revealed that McGonigal took a trip to Albania during their relationship in 2017.

But to get the money, McGonigal's ex-girlfriend raised suspicions that he had used her birthday.

In early October, Guerriero and the former FBI official were supposed to go out to celebrate her birthday, but the dinner was canceled because the current FBI director, Christopher Wray, went to New York unexpectedly and McGonigal had to attended meetings.

She said McGonigal had asked her to leave the celebrations for another day.

"We came out on October 5, 6 or 7", she declared in an interview for " Daily Mail" .

These dates coincide with the time McGonigal received $80,000 from Agron Neza.

According to US prosecutors, Neza gave the former FBI official the money in a car parked outside a restaurant in New York.

But Guerriero says he doesn't remember what happened while they were out.

A few weeks later, she says that in the house where they lived together, she found a black bag with gold writing, inside which were 80 thousand dollars, in 100 dollar bills.

"It occurred to me that they were not payments to some secret informant or some secret agent operating in the field. The money was in a black bag with gold lettering, the kind you get at liquor stores. The bag was not hidden, it was near the main door," she said.

Guerriero pointed out that when he asked the former FBI official about the money, he claimed he had won it in a bet on a baseball game.

These statements of hers shed more light on McGonigal's corruption on behalf of the Albanian government, a file for which American prosecutors have requested 30 months in prison and a fine of 95,000 dollars./ CNA
