The postponement of the decision on Berisha/ Lawyer: Prosecutors like in a
Genc Gjokutaj

A day before the Special Court of Appeal gave the decision on the appeal of the security measure, Sali Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, made accusations, stating that the postponement is a serious violation on the part of the judge, Irena Gjoka.

A emphasized that the absence of the court makes the prosecutors come like in a coffee bar.

"The prosecutors took a position, we spoke for 2 and a half hours, they argued for 5 minutes. Yesterday they said he would not appear. Variable position. The decision is a serious violation, which constitutes a great responsibility for the judge. We will wait for the decision tomorrow at 09:00.. The lack of the court makes the prosecutors come like in a coffee bar.  There is no equality of parties in the trial", said Gjokutaj.

The Special Court will deliver the verdict for Sali Berisha tomorrow at 09:00, after the appeal of the security measure. The Special Court imposed on Berisha the security measure of "house arrest" for the privatization of the "Partizani" complex.

On Tuesday, the head of the Democratic Party stayed for about 2 hours in SPAK and this was the first time he testified before the prosecutors about the "Partizani" file.

After leaving SPAK, in a statement to the media, Berisha again accused the prosecutors. He again described the prosecutors as a structured criminal group.

The Special Prosecutor's Office accuses the former prime minister of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", carried out in cooperation with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezin.

SPAK claims that Berisha, in his capacity as Prime Minister, has favored the privatization procedures of the former "Partizani" complex and the direct beneficiary has been Malltezi./ CNA
