The appeal of GJKKO postpones the hearing for Beleri, what the lawyers requested

On Wednesday, the Special Court of Appeal adjourned to January 29 the hearing of Alfred Beler's request for special permission to be sworn in as mayor.

In today's session, Beler's lawyers requested the dismissal of the sole judge Daniela Shirka, on the grounds that the body should have three members and not one.

During the session, Beleri himself requested the change of the decision of the first instance, which rejected his request for a special permit from the prison.

Fredi Beleri was arrested two days before the local elections on May 14 last year under the charge of "active corruption in elections". He is accused of buying votes.

The reactions of the official Athens regarding this arrest have not been few. But the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, is determined that this is already a matter of justice. /CNA
