This Tuesday, the memorandum for the gasification of Korca was signed between the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Albgaz and the state oil company in Azerbaijan, SOCAR.

This memorandum paves the way for the launch of the first pilot project for the gasification of Korça, which is historic for the southeastern city.

There are several reasons why gasification is historic for Korça.

First, gas will be offered at a low price to all citizens, who today heat with wood and the price of wood is 60-70 thousand old lek per cubic meter.

Second, millions of euros are spent on heating schools, kindergartens and nurseries.

Also, millions of euros are paid for heating public institutions , hospitals, health centers, municipalities, prefectures, etc. With gasification, expenses from the state budget will be reduced.

The third and most important thing is that there will be gas for heating for citizens, and gas is many times cheaper than any other instrument used for heating.

Fourth, businesses also benefit from this project. Those businesses that are supported by the gas industry will have greater economic benefits with cheaper gas.

Therefore, today is a historic event that is supported by Azerbaijan, who are the main investors of TAP.
