Today, the protest of the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre, the opposition and citizens will be held to demand the immediate resignation of Erion Veliaj after the scandal with the 5D affair.

The State Police announced the measures a day ago when they indicated that there will be a temporary blockage of vehicle traffic on the main boulevard near Tirana City Hall.

"In implementation of the plan of measures, the State Police announces that, tomorrow, at 09:45 a.m. and the following day, there will be a temporary blockage of vehicle traffic, on the main boulevard near the Municipality of Tirana. For this reason, we suggest to use alternative routes until the end of the rally, such as the Middle Ring and the Great Ring.

During the last two rallies, held by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theater, in the square in front of the Tirana City Hall, cases of opposition to the police forces, the use and throwing of Molotov cocktails and other objects in the direction of the Tirana City Hall, seriously endangering life and health of police officers.

The Tirana Local Police Directorate fully respects the right of citizens to organize and participate in peaceful gatherings. The police call on the organizers, leaders and participants in the gatherings to respect the law and distance themselves from any act of violence.

Violating the order of public safety and endangering the health and life of police officers constitute a violation of the law and the State Police will always act professionally," the police announcement states./ CNA
