Floods from bad weather/ How the situation looks in the 10 affected regions

The Ministry of Defense has reviewed the situation in the 10 regions affected by flooding as a result of bad weather.

After the continuous intervention of the forces even during the night hours, the situation throughout the country appears to be improving, despite the fact that rainfall has continued in some areas.

Water levels in some areas have begun to decrease, a large part of the road axes where there were problems have returned to passability, while civil emergency teams, the Armed Forces, OSHEE and local structures are continuing their work to fully stabilize the situation and normalize the energy supply, clear landslides and guarantee the safety of residents.

Situation by region:

VLORA DISTRICT

The level of the Vjosa River in Novoselo continues to trend downward, currently the level is 7.65 m.

Work is continuing in the municipalities of Delvinë, Finiq and Konispol, where due to yesterday's rains there was the presence of mud on the roads connecting several villages.

Yesterday, work was carried out to rehabilitate the road axis connecting the villages of Kakodhiq and Lefterhor. 30 forces and 3 vehicles from the Armed Forces went to support the municipality.

In the village of Vrion, residents of a residence were evacuated due to the presence of water.

The Vlora municipality's hydroelectric plants are operating at full capacity.

FIER COUNTY

There continues to be a decrease in the Vjosa and Seman rivers. , the situation is as follows:

About 110 hectares of land are flooded in the villages of Kashisht - Çerven and Ferras. There have been no evacuations of residents, but work has been done to remove water from the yards of apartments where this problem was identified yesterday.

Local authorities are monitoring the embankments near the rivers, which shows that up to now there has been no damage to critical infrastructure.

Local structures have gone into full readiness with all the technical and logistical capacity at their disposal. Near the Vjosa River, in the village of Ferras, the capacities of the Ministry of Defense have also been deployed for support, with high-traffic vehicles, rescue boats, troops and others.

KORÇA DISTRICT

Field teams are continuously monitoring the flows in the Devoll and Dunavec rivers.

There is water on agricultural lands and in some homes in: Lumalas, Bulgarec, Shamoll, Çiflig, Turan, Vloçisht and Sovjan. In Sovjan, 15 families have been evacuated by emergency teams on the ground.

Pustec Municipality: The situation in the village of Shulin is being kept under control, where water occasionally penetrates the ground floors of apartments.

Pogradec Municipality: High flows from the Vërdova, Rëmenj and city rivers.

Meanwhile, work is underway to clean up the soil in Dardhas, Proptisht, and Çërrava.

Work is underway to stabilize the situation at the Tushemisht hydroelectric station, it continues at full capacity, there are 4 pumps in operation.

Municipal structures, UKT and firefighters remain on the ground.

Municipality of Kolonjë: The Helmes and Kabash-Leskovik reservoirs are operating at maximum capacity.

Work is underway on infrastructure to repair several bridges in: Qafzezë, Shtika, Gostivisht, Psar.

After several hours of searching, search and rescue teams and the Armed Forces have managed to find the body of a 76-year-old woman in Proger.

LEZHA DISTRICT

There has been a concentrated intervention of forces throughout the region, due to the more complex situation created as a result of heavy rainfall.

So far, about 220 ha of surface area has been calculated under water; (90 ha in Zejmen, 70 in Shenkollë and about 60 ha in Barbulla due to damage to the embankment in Tale).

The hydroelectric plants are operating at full capacity, with the exception of the Tale dam.

The supply of drinking water and electricity continues normally.

In the municipality of Lezha

All MC structures are on the ground at the embankment in Vain Lagoon. The repair/closure of the damaged embankment has been completed as the first phase, but work will continue on its elevation as well as the distribution of food aid to residents, evacuation of isolated persons, etc.

Boat teams worked to evacuate several residents who requested assistance.

In the Kurbin municipality, there is only partial water availability, in the lower area of ??Gjorm.

Work continues on the Drojë Riverbed, with the municipality's excavator.

At the same time, with the municipality's resources, work is being done to improve and rehabilitate the alternative road to the village of Shpërdhet, so that residents can also have access with their own vehicles.

-Work continues on the Skuraj-Vinjollë-Gallatë road axis. The FA chain excavator, Fadroma and a municipality truck are working. The axis is passable, as the bridge has also been repaired.

-Intervention is being carried out on the bed of the Skuraj River (Vinjollë), to divert the flow near the road.

In the municipality of Mirditë, interventions continue to rehabilitate roads damaged by rainfall. Work is underway in the administrative units of Rrëshen, Kaçinar and Fan.

There is no significant damage to agricultural crops.

DIBAR DISTRICT

The situation is improving.

Work is underway to deepen the drainage channel and remove water in the Bulqiza municipality, where there have been problems on the road axis between the old town and the new town, at the terminal.

The situation in the village of Urake and in Lake Ulza, where the water level is rising, is being monitored. There are also vehicles and forces from the Armed Forces on the ground, to avoid the risk of flooding of homes and to temporarily fix the embankment.

SHKODRA DISTRICT

In the Fushë-Arrëz municipality, the situation is more problematic in the Qafë Mali administrative unit, where work is being done to clean up soil on several road segments.

In the municipality of Malësi e Madhe, an increase in the flow of the Thatë stream has been observed.

BERAT DISTRICT

The situation is improving.

There is a significant drop in the level of the Osum River, which is within its bed and the waters are on agricultural lands in the surrounding villages.

The Devoll River has also recorded a drop in its level.

The services of the Dimal municipality and the Ministry of Public Works will begin work to clean mud and silt from the streets and courtyards of apartments.

GJIROKASTAR DISTRICT

-In the Dropull municipality, the bridge that connects the National road axis with the villages of Glinë, Peshkëpi e Poshtme, Peshkëpi e Sipërme and Radat of the Dropull municipality and the village of Nepravishtë of the Libohëvo municipality, has subsided as a result of rainfall. The State Police has banned traffic on the bridge and municipalities and private businesses are taking measures to put an alternative road into operation, which will enable the passage of vehicles and residents.

-In the Libohova municipality, work has been carried out to repair the bridge in the village of Suhë.

In Përmet, the Frashër–Përmet road (near the village water tank) has been repaired, allowing vehicles to pass.

ELBASAN DISTRICT

In the Gramsh Municipality, work is underway on a segment of the road, on one side of the Shëmriza bridge.

Work is also underway on the Kodovjat-Mashan road axis, where a massif of soil had collapsed, as well as on the Gramsh-Moglica national axis, in a place called Mashan, where after the intervention, passage is free.

Work is also being done on the Elbasan-Peqin national road axis, at the place called the Broshka bend, to clear fallen rocks.

TIRANA DISTRICT

Monitoring is continuing as a result of the increased flow of the Shkumbin River in Rrogozhina, which temporarily overflowed its banks yesterday.

OSHEE teams on the ground are also working non-stop to reconnect power to those areas where there have been outages as a result of bad weather./  CNA
