The situation in the Bregu i Matë area continues to be worrying after flooding caused by high water flows. Although the embankment has been closed, the water level remains high, covering large areas of land in the villages of Barbullojë and Mylte.

Residents living in the area are isolated and are seeking urgent assistance for livestock feed, as their stock is running low and supply is impossible due to high waters.

According to them, the flooding is also worsened by dams blocked by fish accumulation, suspected to be caused by some local businesses. This phenomenon delays the normal discharge of waters and increases the risk of flooding during intense rainfall.

One of the residents said:

"We've been in the water for 4 days. The water level is over 70 cm. The livestock is running out. The fish tank pipes are getting blocked and the water is flowing backwards. The flooding is caused by businesses that are obstructing the flow of water."

Local structures and army forces are working to build embankments and monitor the situation, while residents expect immediate intervention to avoid further losses in agriculture and livestock./ CNA
