Cardiac surgeon Edvin Prifti spoke on the show This Week about the difficult period he spent in prison.

Invited to the show "This Week", the doctor revealed that the conditions in prisons are not what they say. He emphasized that he had been in a cell with 11 other prisoners.

"I never thought that such a thing could happen. I have had good relations with everyone, I have tried to help anyone who asked me for help. I was prepared when living in Albania. An experience had happened with my family, with my grandfather in the first years after the war.

I had a year where I couldn't stop myself from speaking my truths and my opinions. Today, after 5 years, a good part of them have turned out to be true.

Colleagues at work are chosen by the government, you have to have fair relations. I can say that I felt kindness and a kind of pity. This is a feeling of mine. When I got out of prison, they came with bouquets of flowers, they invited me to eat dessert.

In prison, you feel insulted, oppressed, after all, that's the goal. The most difficult moment, the first day when they put us in a cell with 11 people and the conditions in prisons are not what they say, I witnessed a corridor with 10 rooms, and in each of them there were 10 men, and there wasn't even a bed for each one", Edvin Prifti said./ CNA
