From the disappearance of the 76-year-old woman to the problems / The Minister

Defense Minister Pirro Vengu has provided details regarding the problems in flooded areas as a result of heavy rainfall and overflowing rivers.

Vengu said that there have been landslides on secondary roads and in villages and there are still risks.

Gjirokastra, Delvina and Saranda have faced massive rainfall in the last 48 hours. The Gërhoti Department is functioning as a support base for Civil Emergencies for the municipalities of the Gjirokastra, Delvina and Saranda districts. Rehabilitation is being carried out at the level of Quka in order to limit the consequences of the massive flooding of the early morning hours. We are verifying the elements of the bridges once again.

Vengu stated that the elements of the Vjosa basin have been identified for the problems that occurred. He also announced that the Glina Bridge and the Isua Bridge between Libohova and Dropulli have been damaged. For Glina, alternative access has been found from the back from Nepravishta. A rehabilitation investment should be made for the Isua section as there is significant damage.
