The annual pilgrimage, held every late August, has begun on Mount Tomorr in Berat. The world patriarch, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj, gave a congratulatory message to the Bektashi believers, adding that measures have been taken for the five holy days to come to the aid of the pilgrims at all times.

Special attention has also been paid to the fire situation, at a time when the country is engulfed by high temperatures and dozens of fires.

"We are at the aid of the pilgrims at every moment, starting from the road, from water, from everything sanitary that will come to their aid, from meat roasting. Everything they need, we will be ready to come to their aid at any moment. Thousands of pilgrims have come here all these days to see and receive the blessing of this holy mountain. Police, firefighters, doctors... we are on standby. So, we have been working for so many days, we have even made a scheme of how people will be concentrated, where the tents, police, firefighters, and medical personnel will be placed. We have also put up signs so that people do not block traffic, but come directly up," said the world patriarch.

Thousands of Bektashi believers gather at the Kulmak tekke to remember the saint Imam Ali. The pilgrimage takes place from August 20 to 25, while the culminating moments of the Baba Tomorri festival are August 22 and 23./ CNA
