Ilir Beqaj has rejected the mandate of the deputy, choosing to remain in charge of the State Agency of Strategic Program and Aid Coordination.

Ilir Beqaj is the chief monitor of the expenditure of funds that the European Union provides for assistance in our country.

He was appointed to this position at the end of December 2021, signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Beqaj, from the position of the director of "EU funds", declared that the Agency "will provide a solution to a long-standing concern of the donor community, that of VAT reimbursement for those cases when the beneficiary institutions of the projects have not be able to properly program their respective budgets in time".
