The government approved today the decision for the historic salary increase for health professionals throughout the health system.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, in the communication with the media after the meeting of the government, has considered this historic decision to strengthen and support the white shirts and increase the quality of service for citizens.

"With the government's decision, we will have a historic salary increase for specialist doctors, which will be 50,000 lek per month for each specialist doctor who works in our hospital and polyclinic structures throughout the country. We will have an increase of 7% for doctors and nurses and medical science technicians in the entire primary and hospital system, while we will also have an increase for all those employees in the administrations of local health care units, agencies of the Ministry of Health and hospitals, an increase that will be from 25% to 50%, thus creating a hierarchy of salaries, which also reflects the great and historical increase", Manastirliu emphasized .

Minister Manastirliu emphasized that the plan for increasing the targeted salaries will continue in 2024.

"We have increased the salaries for specialist doctors and all employees of the health system, we will continue the salary increase for the year 2024 for family doctors and nurses, who will again have a targeted salary increase", said Manastirliu .

About 22,000 health professionals across the country will benefit from the 2023-2024 salary increase plan./ CNA.al
