The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro have distributed the first coast guard certificates to the 30 students of the University of Sports, who have been trained and certified by the National Medical Emergency Center.

"The National Medical Emergency Center, in cooperation with the University of Sports and under the direction of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, have already established a cooperation, which will be sustainable, because the qualification of coast guards is one of the aspects that guarantees a safe tourist season. Beaches become safer by having coast guards who are certified. There are about 900 students who have joined the announced call and today we have the first 30 students who are certified as life guards coast", said Minister Manastirliu.

Considering the certification of the coast guards as an added security guarantee, Kumbaro said that with the latest decision of the Council of Ministers, intervention will be allowed against operators who do not enforce the presence of watchmen, removing the right to manage the beach.

"It is a growing market, because it is already the operators who, in order to attract customers, tell them that we have sunbeds, we also have a restaurant, we also have a beach watcher at our station, which is a guarantee for you. And we have it established by law and we control it now. We have also made a change in the decision of the Council of Ministers that our intervention towards operators who do not implement the presence regulated by a work contract for observers, their contract of the beach station is terminated", - said Godfather.

As part of the plan of measures for a safe tourist season, Minister Manastirliu announced the opening of summer health centers.

"We will open, as we have done every year, 29 summer health centers throughout the coast, but also in the mountainous areas, in which they will offer services to vacationers, local and foreign tourists, with about 160 doctors and nurses. ", Manastirliu said.

The training and certification of the coast guards was carried out thanks to the inter-institutional cooperation, with a real program and practice, on how to act in emergency cases on the beaches. Also present at the activity were Prof. Agron Kasa, Rector of the Sports University of Tirana and Prof.Dr. Ferdinand Mara, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Recreation, Sports University of Tirana, who considered this cooperation very important for the students. The preparation and certification of the coast guards through this cooperation will be an ongoing process to increase safety on the beaches during the summer season./ CNA.al
