Bosnian minister criticizes Serbia: As long as you protect war criminals, there

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Foreign Minister, Elmedin Konakovic, has expressed criticism of the current political situation in the Balkan region.

Konakovic has stated that historically the Balkans have had “the weakest politics in the world,” while accusing Serbian President Aleksandar Vu?i? of inciting tensions and “noise for another war” with his statements about a Kosovo-Albania-Croatia alliance. According to Konakovic, such rhetoric feeds old historical narratives that do not help regional stability.

His statements have brought the reaction of Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, who has defended President Vucic's positions, emphasizing that he has always been committed to stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

On the other hand, Konakovic has reacted by saying that there can be no good neighborliness if, according to him, Serbia hides war criminals.

"We cannot lie and expect trust. After everything that happened during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which I call aggression, relations are deeply damaged. If war criminals are hidden or glorified, we cannot talk about good neighborliness," he declared.

The Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, Amer Kapetanovic, also participated in the debate, emphasizing that peace cannot be maintained through political declarations alone.

He stated that stability is built through economic cooperation, infrastructural connections, functional institutions and continuous dialogue between countries in the region, emphasizing that regional cooperation has a direct impact on the lives of citizens. / CNA
