The Fier Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigations and sent the chief inspector and two inspectors of the Territory Protection Inspectorate in the Municipality of Divjaka to trial. The officials are officially accused of the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", after an investigation that revealed their systematic failure to control the territory.

According to the prosecution, during the investigation of the proceedings, it turned out that these officials did not exercise their legal responsibilities in at least 31 cases of unauthorized construction. These cases had previously been sent to court and had reached final decisions on the builders' guilt, but the IMT had not taken any preventive or punitive action according to the law.

The investigation has proven that even in those cases where administrative offenses have been found, officials have avoided regular procedures that begin with the finding and continue with the imposition of a fine, the demolition of the facility, and criminal charges.

Furthermore, their negligence was intentional in collecting fines, allowing the statute of limitations to be exceeded. This action has caused real and direct damage to the state and local budgets, which for the period 2021–2022 is estimated at 11,170,000 lek./ CNA
