The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, after the government meeting, spoke about the agreement with Great Britain for the transfer of Albanian prisoners from the United Kingdom to Albania.

According to the minister, there will be no cost in the state budget as everything will be covered by the British side.

" As it has been announced, we already have an agreement reached with the United Kingdom for the transfer of convicts from Britain to Albania.

I would like to inform you that the criteria for the transfer are defined in the agreement that is in force since 2021. The main purpose of the agreement is for these citizens to come and serve the rest of their sentences with their family members.

Within the capacities we have in our prisons, we will come with the purpose of reintegration and socialization.

I want to assure you that the agreement has no cost for the state budget. Every cost will be covered by the British side", said Manja./ CNA.al
