The priorities for strengthening the health system as well as addressing the mobility challenges of doctors were the focus of the bilateral meeting.

"We are focused on strengthening the health service through investments in the system, but also new programs that we are undertaking in primary care to address mental health issues, through the integration of socio-health services. The new primary care strategy that we are implementing is also about the expansion of services in primary care, including other specialties in health centers, such as physiotherapists or speech therapists, to guarantee more services close to the place of residence", said Minister Manastirliu. during the meeting with dr. Minister Manastirliu and WHO Director for Europe, Dr. Kluge, shared together the idea of ??creating an active communication platform between member countries to address the challenge of mobility of health professionals.

"The absolute priority is the support of human resources in health, which are the backbone of the health system. We are undertaking a 2-year plan to increase pay and support for health professionals. But to address the issue of mobility of doctors, which does not belong to only one country or a few countries, an active platform of communication between countries is needed, using different forms of cooperation, in order to have a greater support for resources our human resources, in terms of their ongoing training and education", said Manastirliu.

WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Kluge, appreciated Albania's initiative for the provision of socio-health services as well as the proposal for an interaction platform for the global challenge of mobility of doctors.

"Improvements in primary care centers and the implementation of socio-health services are essential for strengthening the health system, also addressing the challenge of mental health. We also value a communication platform between countries as important, which addresses the issue of workforce mobility in health", said Kluge in the meeting with Minister Manastirliu.
