Farewell to Kadare, in homage to Basha and Meta

On Wednesday, at the Opera and Ballet Theater, tributes are being paid to the writer Ismail Kadare, who passed away at the age of 88.

The highest heads of state, politics and artistic personalities are participating in the tributes.

So far, the mayor Erion Veliaj, the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta and Lulzim Basha have participated. 

For the media, Meta said that the memory of our writers will remain eternal.  

"To say goodbye to the genius of the nation who with his pen raised Albania and Albanians to the top of world literature when Albania was more isolated than ever. With sacrifice he preceded a new era. Eternal memory of our writer great and unrepeatable", said Meta.
