Academic and writer Lea Ypi has stated that she does not rule out the possibility of direct engagement in politics, emphasizing that politics is an inseparable part of her daily life and professional activity.

Ypi stated that she is already engaged in politics through books, analyses and public debates, which aim to have social and political impact. According to her, the critical role of the intellectual in society is an important form of civic contribution.

Asked if she would ever get directly involved in active politics, she stressed that she does not rule anything out, using the phrase “never say never.” However, Ypi criticized public speculation and assumptions about decisions that, according to her, have not been made.

She described as absurd the way in which society often attributes alleged decisions or negotiations to individuals, without having concrete facts, emphasizing that even the question itself about these issues, in some cases, is baseless.

I write books that I try to have political impact, I engage in political debates, I hope and try to play my critical role in society as a citizen who has a profession, in this case writing academia or books or political analysis, and tries to make her contribution in the most responsible way possible.
