Where could Erion Veliaj work with his degree?

"Ora News" television published a news report that Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is in Durrës prison on 13 serious criminal charges, did not have a Master's degree, had not received the title "Honoris Causa" from "Grand Valley State University" in the United States of America, but simply was a student who had completed a Bachelor's degree.

What does this mean in the Albanian administration? So, let's see where Erion Veliaj could work in the state administration if he only had a Bachelor's degree. With Albanian law and the salary levels determined by the government, which gives according to the salary level then also the job description and the diploma and education that you must have, looking at the structure, with a simple Bachelor's degree without a Master's degree, Erion Veliaj could simply and only work as a warehouseman or a customs officer. Then he was corrupt, he was a thief, he was not a thief, it's another thing, what is the perception of people about warehousemen or customs officers.

In fact, Erion Veliaj became mayor, he became and was elected because the Socialist Party proposed him and there have always been doubts and debates about his diploma. He has never issued Masters, diplomas and documents that prove school. Politics and the law have it like that. If you are proposed, you can be with high school, with college, without diplomas, with diplomas and you can be elected because it is the people who vote for you.

In fact, the case of Veliaj is the one that shows us that the law needs to be regulated. A person who can work as a warehouseman or customs officer cannot be allowed to run for mayor, because then he will start to give advice to others, as is the case of the mayor of Tirana who has become a lawyer, athlete, architect, builder, knows everything, develops the city. Meanwhile, if he worked in the administration, he probably wouldn't even be a specialist.

Therefore, the law must be changed, and this is the case when a person with a Bachelor's degree, as alleged by the "Ora News" denunciation, becomes mayor, while in the municipal administration he probably would never have started working as a subordinate of the mayor. Now the mayor has a Bachelor's degree and is elected by the people, of course. The specialists, the bosses have Master's degrees, from very large schools and are led by someone who is less educated than them.

He may be a politician, but he is not more educated and enlightened than a large part of the administration. This impasse must be resolved. An uneducated person cannot lead the more educated at the appropriate level, because then "their feet will rise and their heads will fall."/ CNA
