Criminal Code and rehabilitation of prisoners/ Meeting between Lamallari and

Minister of Justice Besfort Lamallari held a meeting with his Italian counterpart Carlo Nordio.

Lamallari said he revealed that during the meeting, discussions were held on the support that Italy can provide in the legal changes that will be made to the Penal Codes and for the rehabilitation and reintegration of convicts in institutions for the execution of criminal decisions.

"It is a special pleasure to conduct my first official visit as Minister of Justice in Italy and, moreover, to meet with my Italian counterpart Carlo Nordio, with whom we had a friendly and highly productive conversation on further strengthening bilateral relations and, in particular, jurisdictional relations with abroad."

We also discussed the support that Italy can provide us in the legal changes that we will make to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes, but also in our ambition for the rehabilitation and reintegration of convicts in institutions for the execution of criminal decisions.

"We greatly appreciate the partnership with neighboring Italy, its extraordinary contribution to strengthening the rule of law, the rule of law, and its unstoppable advocacy for Albania's integration into the EU," Lamallari writes./ CNA
