He asked to be released today/ The Appeal Court of Kosovo rejects Jurgis

The appeal of the GJKKO has rejected the request of former MP Jurgis Çyrbja to lift the security measure.

Çyrba has requested to be released today, but the Appeals Court of Criminal Appeals has rejected the request, as according to the decision he has a few more hours to serve his sentence.

NOTICE

The Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Daniela Shirka (presiding judge), Florjan Kalaja (member) and Tereza Merkaj (member), today, on 20.02.2026, ruled on criminal case no. 73 act, dated 18.02.2026 registration, upon the request of the defendant J.Ç, with the subject: “Termination of the security measure “Arrest in prison”, determined by decision no. 126, dated 20.10.2024 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, verified by decision no. 129, dated 22.10.2024 of this court, due to the termination of the sentence given by decision no. 68, dated 03.11.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime”, as follows:

– Rejection of the request of the applicant J.Ç.
