Oboti continues under water/ How is the situation in the Shkodra region?

The Shkodra Prefecture has provided details regarding the situation due to the rainfall in this region. In the Shkodra municipality, in the village of Obot, 6 forces and 1 military vehicle have been deployed, while the water level in this area has reached 30 cm. 

In Lezha, water levels at monitoring points continue to be below critical levels. It is also reported that there is snowfall on the Bogë-Theth axis, with the thickness reaching over 50 cm, increasing the risk of avalanches.

In the municipalities of Malësi e Madhe, Vau i Dejës, Pukë and Fushë-Arrëz, the situation appears stable.

The Prefecture of Shkodra District, following the continuous monitoring of the hydrometeorological situation and civil emergencies, as well as in coordination with the responsible institutions, presents updated information on the situation at the district level.

In the territory of the Municipality of Shkodra, the operation continues in the village of Obot, where 6 forces and 1 vehicle from the Military Unit 1010, Vau i Dejës, are engaged in the field. The water level on the road axis is about 30 cm, while the rainfall continues from time to time with high intensity. Up to now, there are no reports of houses surrounded by water.

According to data administered by DRUK Lezha, water levels at monitoring points continue to be below critical levels. The lake level is 7.85 m (critical level 9.50 m), while the Drin River level is 7.60 m (critical level 10.00 m). During the last 24 hours, about 25 mm of rainfall has been recorded. The drainage and flood protection infrastructure appears functional and without problems, while the rainfall continues.

Regarding the situation on the road axes, rainfall continues on the Koplik–Bogë and Dedaj–Razem axes, while snowfall is occurring on the Bogë–Theth axis. The thickness of the snow has reached over 50 cm, increasing the risk of avalanches. The responsible structures remain on alert and are continuously monitoring the situation.

In the Municipality of Malësi e Madhe, there was moderate rainfall throughout the night, with no problems reported by the Civil Emergency structures. In the Municipality of Vau i Dejës, rainfall was also moderate, with no problems reported. Meanwhile, in the Municipality of Pukë and the Municipality of Fushë-Arrëz, the situation appears stable and under control.

The Prefect of Shkodra District and local structures continue to monitor the situation on the ground and will report on any development of the civil emergency situation. / CNA
