"The trial is coming to an end"/ Aulon Kalaja: The 9th session with Veliaj fails

The ninth hearing at the Tirana Court (Criminal Chamber) regarding the defamation lawsuit filed by the arrested mayor, Erion Veliaj, against journalist Aulon Kalaja has failed.

The journalist stated that the reason for the failure of this session was the absence of Mayor Veliaj's lawyer. Kalaja announced that the next session is scheduled for February 23.

"The 9th session with the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who sued me in court, failed. Today was an important session because the examination of evidence would continue and of course the trial is coming to an end. The reason why the session failed is a letter from the mayor of Tirana and the absence of his lawyer in relation to this session. The next session was scheduled for Monday, February 23 at 11:30. We await how the developments will go," Kalaja said. /CNA
