The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, has raised the "alarm" about the situation in the Sharra landfill.
In a television interview, Kelliçi warns that the Sharra landfill is on the verge of an environmental disaster.
He stated that this is happening because there is no more capacity for waste storage and that they are not burned but simply piled up. Kelliçi declared that this is leading us to an environmental collapse.
"There is no capacity for depositing waste in the landfill because waste is not incinerated. We are close to environmental collapse. It is a very serious financial but also environmental problem", says Belind Kelliçi.
