Anti-drug operation in Lezha, three people arrested

Three cases of narcotic plant cultivation have been cracked down on by police in the Lezha district, following field checks conducted from the ground and air, through the use of drones.

The operation was carried out by the services of the Mirditë Police Station, the Kurbin Police Station and the Narcotics Investigation Section of the Lezha Local Police Directorate, based on operational information.

In Mirdita, police arrested a 21-year-old man with the initials JR, a resident of Durrës, in flagrante delicto. He was caught in the village of Sheshaj while taking care of 222 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants, cultivated in a wooded area.

Another case was identified in Kurbin, where a 47-year-old man with the initials DN, a resident of Fushë Laç, was arrested. According to the police, he was caught taking care of 151 suspected narcotic plants.

Meanwhile, specialists from the Kurbin Police Station also arrested a 44-year-old woman with the initials VM, after 63 suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa plants were found in the "Rrahu i Pashas" neighborhood in Laç, which she is suspected of caring for.

All seized narcotic plants were destroyed by burning, while the procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further investigative actions./ CNA
