The Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, and the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, met yesterday to discuss issues related to the proper functioning of the justice system and its role in the integration process.

In the meeting, the importance of following the recommendations of the EU as a priority, as well as the support that the latter can provide for the prosecution, was emphasized.

In particular, the ambassador secured the support of the EU delegation in Albania for the establishment of the case management system in the prosecutor's office.

The General Prosecutor also raised concern about the lack of adequate infrastructure in some of the prosecutor's offices and courts in the country, as well as the lack of a clear perspective for solving the problem./ CNA
