GJKKO accepts Berisha/Rama's request to be called as a witness for the

The Special Court has accepted the request of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, to summon Prime Minister Edi Rama as a witness in the “Partizani” file. According to reports, Rama will be summoned as a witness in his capacity as the former mayor of Tirana. 

In the next session, the head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, who is also the prosecutor in this case, is also expected to testify.

In the last session, the Special Prosecution Office stated that the decision regarding the request to summon Rama should be made by the Special Court.

The investigations into this case have resulted in the arrest of 8 people, including Berisha and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi. The GJKKO has imposed the security measure "compulsory appearance" on them.

We remind you that the trial on the merits of the "Partizani" file has begun at the Special Court. /CNA
