Associations' decision/ Public transport fleet reduced by 40%

The Urban and Interurban Transport Association has reduced its service fleet by 40%, due to the cost situation created by the increase in fuel prices.

The reduction came into effect today, while the day before, the associations emphasized that this comes because up to this moment, no concrete support measures have been taken for this sector by the responsible institutions.

According to the associations, such a decision came after no compensation scheme for the fuel price increase was approved, despite the operators' repeated request.

Among other things, they stated that no process has been initiated to review fiscal elements that directly affect operating costs. The reduction in the number of urban residents also brings difficulties for the movement of citizens. /CNA
