The General Director of Emergency Services, Skënder Brataj, said today that so far around 11 patients have been treated in the emergency, toxicology and burn-plastic services, as a result of the massive fire that engulfed a building near "Pharmacy 10" in Tirana.

In a statement to the media, Brataj emphasized that 6 of these patients have been hospitalized, while none of them are in critical condition.

"Up to now, between the emergency, internal diseases, toxicology and burn-plastics, there are about 11 patients, of whom 1 is hospitalized in burn-plastics with burns of about 15% and out of danger to life, there are 4 in toxicology while several others have been treated and have been sent to the apartment. We have transported a case that was a mother suffering from asthma. The situation for now is about 11 patients, of whom 6 are hospitalized but there is no red code or danger to life. Several checks have been made in the building, the fire is under control and no residents are found to be in the building. With a fire of this size, it is a great fortune that there were no victims, or a large number, and fortunately we have the fire under control. In terms of dimension, the situation would have been more catastrophic, both in terms of the number of people and the number of residents in a building like this," said Brataj. /CNA
