Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted on social media regarding the massive fire that engulfed the building near "Pharmacy 10" yesterday and burned down a large part of it.

Këlliçi states that the event where dozens of residents risked their lives and lost their homes should be urgently investigated by the Prosecution Office and the perpetrators brought to justice.

Among other things, he states that the two main people responsible for that disaster are Prime Minister Edi Rama and the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj. According to him, this system with these constructions was done on their orders.

The serious incident yesterday in a densely populated area in the center of Tirana, where dozens of residents risked their lives and lost their property due to a fire that engulfed a complex for several hours, must be investigated seriously and swiftly by the Prosecutor's Office. The perpetrators at every stage must be identified and brought to justice immediately!

Despite this, every citizen knows today that two people are primarily responsible for that catastrophe, Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj. It is from their hands, from their orders, that this system was established, with constructions to get as much money as possible and without considering the interests of citizens, their safety and quality of life.

Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj have built a concrete industry that has taken over every space, to satisfy customers and increase their wealth.

A criminal industry that does not provide basic elements of safety for people, where sacrifice and heroism from some firefighters and police officers are needed to avoid tragedy.

When Erion Veliaj and Edi Rama allow the same builder (the famous Armand Lilo) to add 7 floors without a permit right in front of the Mayor's office, in the middle of Skanderbeg Square, do citizens expect the municipality and the government to have exercised control over permit standards, or the quality of work in a residential complex?!

I urge a serious and thorough investigation by the Prosecutor's Office. But it is clear that the main perpetrators of this charade are above the law and will not be investigated.

Edi Rama must be held accountable to the citizens.

And the day after tomorrow, Friday, April 17, at 7:00 PM, is the day for citizens to hold him accountable for this and many other dramas he is causing the country. / CNA
