Mafia families in Albania?/ Here's how SPAK head Altin Dumani responds

The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, answered several questions addressed to him by opposition MPs in Parliament today.

Dumani also addressed the question of the existence of mafia families in Albania.

Dumani stated that the fight against organized crime is among SPAK's achievements, as over the years successful investigations have been carried out in this field, with seriousness and professionalism, also in cooperation with foreign agencies.

The head of SPAK underlined that in this fight against organized crime, we must not forget the level of sophistication that this field has undergone over the years.

"Regarding SPAK's results in the fight against organized crime, one of the things it should be proud of is precisely this fight because thanks to cooperation with European agencies, countries in the region, the US and Latin America, we have conducted successful investigations. It is a trust that has been given to us that we have deserved because we have shown how serious and professional we are in our investigations. I will give you a figure. From 2004-2019, about 718 subjects were treated. The level of sophistication of organized crime cannot be compared to today because it is very dynamic. This cooperation must be appreciated", said Dumani. /CNA
