Çela: We have a doubling of cases transferred, there is a problem in the work of the Prosecution Office

The Prosecutor General, Olsian Çela, stated in the Assembly that in recent years the role of the Prosecution has become more complex. Çela said that there is a problem with the work of the prosecution that is reflected in the number of cases transferred. But according to him, what is positive is the performance of the prosecutions where the urgency has been greatest.

"Regarding issues related to the role of the Prosecutor General, the role of the prosecution has become much more complex than it used to be, because it lacks verticality. The institutional cohesion that the Prosecution needs is being questioned. I have requested changes to the law on the Prosecution but also further to create real instruments that can be used by the Prosecutor General to increase the efficiency of the work of the prosecution. We have a doubling of cases carried forward, so there is a problem in the work of the Prosecution. But we can say that what is positive is the giving of priorities. The prosecutions have tried to perform better where the urgency has been greatest." , said Çela. /CNA
