The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude, Monsignor Joani is participating in the international meeting of the Community of Sant'Egidio "Religions and Cultures for Peace", entitled "Courage for Peace" that began this Sunday in Rome.

From October 26 to 28, the city of Rome will host this international event with thousands of participants and many religious leaders from all over the world, men and women of culture, civil society, business and politics, who will discuss a fundamental theme: Peace.

The eventful program was inaugurated by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

"The spirit of Assisi, which is repeated in these meetings, reminds us all that peace is not a result destined to be achieved without constant commitment. Peace must be sought, cultivated and dared, to quote the evocative title chosen this year by the initiative of the Community of Sant'Egidio. As His Holiness recalled, Leo XIV must 'disarm souls and disarm words' to truly promote peace. I echo his appeal of a few days ago, during his visit to the Quirinale, so that, as he said, we may continue to work to restore peace in every part of the world and to cultivate and promote ever more the principles of justice and equality among peoples", said Mattarella.

This meeting is expected to discuss emerging issues of our time, such as peace, disarmament, the environmental crisis, migrants, democracy and solidarity, until the final ceremony on the afternoon of October 28 in front of the Colosseum with Pope Leo XIV./ CNA
