"Tax evasion"/ Investigation launched into entities providing postal

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has registered a criminal proceeding for tax evasion for goods sold without an invoice. Several entities that provide postal services in the capital are under investigation, where several inspections have been carried out. 

From the controls so far, quantities of goods without tax invoices, 13 million lek, and accompanying documentation have been seized that, according to the Prosecutor's Office, indicate illegality in terms of tax evasion, as well as amounts of money that are suspected of deriving from illegal activity. In the meantime, work is underway to identify the real sellers of the goods.

Investigations into entities providing postal services, Tirana Prosecution registers criminal proceedings for tax evasion for goods sold without invoices, 13 million lek are seized

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana registers criminal proceedings no. 156, year 2026, for the criminal offense of tax evasion, provided for by Article 180 of the Criminal Code.

After permission from the court, at the request of the proceeding body, inspections were carried out at several entities that provide postal services in the capital.

So far, the controls have resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of goods received without tax invoices, 13 million lek, as well as accompanying documentation, evidence that, according to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, shows illegality in terms of tax evasion, as well as sums of money suspected of deriving from illegal activity.

Investigations continue to identify the real sellers and fully document the illegal activity. /CNA
