Hazardous waste from "Kurum"/ 20 security measures implemented, 13

Durrës Police have executed 20 security measures ordered by the Durrës Court for criminal offenses in the fields of smuggling, waste management, document forgery and laundering of the products of criminal activity.

The announcement states that work is also underway to capture 13 other citizens who were not found in their homes during the operation.

It is also announced that the operation was carried out by the Durrës police in cooperation with the Tirana and Elbasan police, under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office.

The police operation codenamed "Eco-Toxic" is finalized.

The operation, by the Durrës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Tirana DVP and the Elbasan DVP, under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office.

20 security measures are being executed, determined by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for criminal offenses in the field of smuggling, waste management, forgery of documents and laundering of the products of criminal activity.

Work continues to capture 13 other citizens who were not found in their homes during the operation. 

The Economic and Financial Crime Investigation Section at the Durrës Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Tirana and Elbasan Local Police Directorates, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, finalized the operation codenamed "Eco-Toxic".

As part of the operation, the decision of 03.02.2026, of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, was executed, for the detention of the following citizens:

-F. Ç., 47 years old, and GS, 55 years old, residents of Durrës, both with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Air pollution through the release of fumes, gases and other toxic radioactive substances, committed beyond the permitted limits", committed in collaboration; 

-MH, 37 years old, resident of Tirana, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity";

-JK, 49 years old, IL, 55 years old and HL, 55 years old, all three residents of Durrës, EV, 59 years old, Sh. J., 55 years old, both residents of Tirana, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity", committed in collaboration;

-RB, 41 years old, resident of Tirana, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of prohibited or restricted goods" and "Air pollution through the release of fumes, gases and other toxic radioactive substances, committed beyond the permitted limits", committed in collaboration;

-Sh. H., 39 years old, resident of Elbasan, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of prohibited or restricted goods" and "Forgery of documents", more than once, committed in collaboration;

-NB, 58 years old, and AP, 35 years old, residents of Elbasan, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Air pollution through the release of fumes, gases and other toxic radioactive substances, committed beyond the permitted limits", committed in collaboration;

-KA, 35 years old, resident of Tirana, with the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Abuse of office";

-IM, 47 years old, resident of Durrës; MP, 37 years old; AD, 46 years old; KS, 34 years old; BT, 40 years old and EM, 48 years old, resident of Tirana, under the security measure "House arrest", for the criminal offense "Abuse of office";

-MZ, 49 years old, resident of Elbasan, under the security measure "House arrest", for the criminal offenses "Forgery of documents", committed in collaboration, and "Laundering the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity".

Meanwhile, work continues to capture the citizens:

-ED, 46 years old; YK, 46 years old and HS, 42 years old, residents of Turkey; MI, 43 years old, resident of Vlora; A. Sh., 48 years old, resident of Tirana; MK, 68 years old, resident of Tirana; PQ, 55 years old, resident of Elbasan; Xh. G., 37 years old, resident of Durrës; DS, 43 years old, resident of Tirana; DS, 57 years old, Croatian citizen; Gj. S., 43 years old, resident of Lushnja; OP, 40 years old, resident of Lushnja; and IH, 61 years old, German citizen.

The above citizens are suspected of committing criminal offenses in the field of waste management and smuggling.

Work continues to capture the wanted citizens.

The materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action. / CNA
