Winner announced for 2.1 million euro training ground and gym for special forces

The Centralized Purchasing Operator recently announced the winner of the contract with the object "Construction of a shooting range and gym complex for operational and special forces in the Prison System" with a limit fund of 296 million lek or about 3 million euros.

The winning bid resulted in 71 percent of the limit fund or 210 million lek (2.1 million euros). Referring to the documents accompanying the procedure, it turns out that the project actually foresees the construction of a complex that will include several facilities.

"The Polygon and Gym Complex will be built in a square located in the territory of the General Directorate of Prisons, with the address Zef Serembe Street "former BRMR", Tirana.

Within this area (territory), a training complex, gym and outdoor sports grounds will be built for the training of operational and special forces in the prison system, where in addition to the training facilities (training ground/gym) there will be other auxiliary facilities such as a kitchen, bedrooms, services, classrooms, sports grounds, etc. The complex will have training spaces for 100 people," the technical report of the project states.

According to data in the implementation project, the complex includes a polygon equipped with advanced technology for training and safety training, as well as a multifunctional gym for sports and fitness activities.

"The training ground will be designed for the training of professionals in the field of security and defense, including various training areas, simulations and spaces suitable for practical training. It will have modern equipment for measuring performance and ensuring a safe and professional environment."

"The gym will offer various spaces for physical training, including areas for physical conditioning, weightlifting equipment, functional training areas, and spaces for various aerobic activities and exercises," the documents state.

Likewise, the project yard will be an open space, designed to be used as a recreation area and various activities outside the indoor areas. It will include green areas with local trees and vegetation, walking paths, and spaces for outdoor sports activities.
