Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has reacted to the serious incident that happened yesterday evening in Gramsh, where 4 people drowned in Banja lake.

Through a post on social networks, Berisha states that this tragedy would have been avoided if the relevant bodies were on duty and vigilant.

The former prime minister expresses his condolences to the families of the victims and emphasizes that he condemns with the greatest severity the indifference of the State Police for security in the country, highlighting the other tragic events yesterday that resulted in 8 victims.

"A black Friday with 12 victims, like in a country without a state.

Dear friends, yesterday was a tragic day in Albanian waters and not only in them. Arben Zogu, 46 years old, with his two sons, Rubens Zogu, 19 years old and Estin Zogu, 14 years old, and their cousin Melsi Zogu, 20 years old, drowned in the waters of Banja lake. This great family tragedy, which has deeply shocked our society, was completely preventable, in case the state responsibilities were exercised, for the use of the lake for tourist purposes, beach and swimming. But the state does not exist for the citizens.

Expressing my deepest condolences to the family and residents of Gramsci, for this serious family tragedy, I condemn with the greatest severity the criminal indifference, for the safety in the waters of the country, which is expressed everywhere and in all fields, while yesterday there were 8 more victims in the waters, roads, electric cabins, etc. Sb" - writes Berisha.
