The Second Sunday of Lent was celebrated at the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Tirana.

Today's sermon was delivered by Archimandrite Ignatius, who shared important and valuable messages about the hope that Jesus Christ brings to human life.

One of the most terrible mines in antiquity was that of Lavrikon in ancient Hellas. The work was hard, life was hard, being a slave made it even harder. On an ordinary day, a gallery collapsed and the mass of earth frightened everyone. At that moment they thought their end was near.

An old man's voice raised hope: "If we all work together, we can make it."

This expression brought motivation, they immediately returned to work, reopened the gallery, the fresh air restored hope and vitality. The road was opened, everyone came out alive. To many eyes they were just slaves, but they made it.

Jesus leaves Galilee and comes to Capernaum to preach the word and water their souls for salvation. The crowd followed him wherever he went, because they felt that words of life were coming from him. After he entered a house, everyone surrounded him and found spiritual pleasure in his gracious lectures.

Once upon a time, in a simple house in Capernaum, there lived a sick man, lying on his bed carrying his cross, the paralysis that had gripped him tightly. The Gospel tells us that four men carried him and took him to Jesus, where the master was preaching. Crowds, obstacles, impossibility. The door of the house was blocked, the normal way offered no solution. Then they opened the roof and let the sick man down at his feet. The teacher looks at them, recognizes their faith and with his word heals him, brings him back to the battle of everyday life.

What message does the Gospel have for contemporary man? Clear, simple, decisive. The voice of today's mentality dictates: "Don't get too tired, enjoy life as it comes, become one with the reality of the crowd."

The Spirit of the Gospel answers: "No matter how large the crowd, no matter how blocked your path, there are still some people who will carry your bier and lead you to Jesus, who is waiting."

His lips are ready to utter the words: "Son, your sins are forgiven. Take up your bed and walk."

A ekziston pengesa në kohën e sotme për ata që duan të besojnë? Pafund. A është realiteti agresiv? Sigurisht. A ka një përgjigje kisha? Pa dyshim. Pjesa e sotme e Ungjillit na flet praktikisht: Mëkati që kam bërë, shihet brenda nesh, na sëmur edhe trupërisht. Këtë e dalloi mjeku Jesu dhe i tha: "Bir, mëkatet e tua të janë falur, merre vigun tënd dhe ec sërish me dinjitet, rikthehu ta përfundosh betejën tënde."

Po realitetit agresiv ç't'i bëjmë? Asgjë. Le të tregojmë se kemi rrokur kryqin dhe e mbartim drejt Golgothasë, duke e ditur se brenda tij ndodhet ngjallja. Nuk ka gjë më të saktë dhe më të mirë përcaktuar sesa kjo: i falur, i shëruar, i gatshëm për të vazhduar betejën.

Por mendja jonë e dobët pyet: "Përse farisenjtë dhe skribët u mërzitën?" Fryma e Ungjillit e ka prapë një përgjigje: Mielli përzihet në ujë, kripë, maja, rrihet fort dhe furra e pret gati për t'u pjekur, dhe buka bëhet e shijshme, ofertë e pëlqyer nga Perëndia.

Shën Ignat Hyjmbajtësi na thotë: "Edhe sikur luanët nuk do të më hanë, unë vetë do t'i ngacmoj që të më bluajnë mirë dhe të jem një bukë e mirë dhe e pëlqyer nga Perëndia."
