About two years ago, the scandal about the IM politician who had been a spy and collaborator of the former State Security during the communist era was denounced.

It all started in July 2022, when a request was published that the Authority for Information on State Security Files had sent to the Assembly, revealing that a high-profile politician, with the initials IM, had been a spy.

It was immediately reported in the media that it was about Ilir Meta. Then it was discovered that the person who was an accomplice of the Security was the citizen Ilir Metaj.

The chairman of PL, whom we know as Ilir Meta, is actually registered in the Civil Registry under the name Ilir Metaj and has not made any changes, this was confirmed by the General Directorate of Civil Registry.

Today, CNA TV has secured another document that shows that Ilir Metaj was paid 50 lek by the State Security, for a service rendered to this structure. The document shows that Ilir Metaj was a paid collaborator of the notorious State Security during the dictatorship.

The secret document, which was declassified a year ago, is dated February 6, 1989 and is a decision to withdraw money from the secret fund for the operational interests of the former state insurance.

According to the document, Metaj was paid 50 lek as a servant and spy, for carrying out an interception in a restaurant. Document to be published in the future by CNA.

The document published today once again confirms the services of Ilir Metaj or Ilir Meta as Albanians know him, to the State Security by spying on his friends at the Faculty of Economics.
