The political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, has denounced that the residents of the former Durrës Restaurant were suddenly informed that the Municipal Council has made the decision to demolish their homes, due to the damage caused by the 2019 earthquake.

During the meeting with the residents, Kelliçi learned that the residents have not been contacted by anyone and have no information about this decision-making.

"Modern internment and forced eviction are methods which the mayor has already made normal practices for years. The residents of 5 Maji, Myslym Keta, Kombinat, Laprak, and Unaza e Re have suffered the same robbery and injustice," emphasizes Kelliçi.

"With the residents of the former "Durresit" Restaurant, who were suddenly informed a few days ago, that the Tirana City Council has made a decision to demolish the apartments, due to the damage caused by the 2019 earthquake...

Until today, almost 5 years after the earthquake, no one has contacted these residents. No one has given them information about this decision-making and they still have no contact from the Municipality of Tirana, except for a notice attached to the entrances of their buildings...

Among other things, he calls on citizens to join the protest on Friday at 11:00 in front of the town hall.
