The American delegation meets Duman / Discussions on the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law

A delegation of American justice officials visited SPAK today, where they met with the head of this institution, Altin Dumani, and other prosecutors.

The meeting discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law.

The American Embassy announces that the United States is proud to support SPAK and other justice institutions that are building a stronger democracy for the Albanian people. 

"A delegation of American justice officials visited SPAK today, where they met with Chief Altin Dumani and prosecutors to discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. The group includes the Honorable Trina Higgins, Prosecutor of the U.S. for the District of Utah; Chief Judge Robert Shelby of the U.S. District Court; and Judge Paige Petersen of the Utah Supreme Court.

They underlined how important criminal prosecution with integrity and professionalism is to fight corruption, organized crime and impunity. The United States is proud to support SPAK and other justice institutions that are building a stronger democracy for the Albanian people," the American embassy announced./ CNA
