The Ministry of Defense has given details about the fire situation in the village of Grapsh in the Municipality of Dropulli. 

According to the information of the Ministry of Defense, after the continuous work of the forces on the ground and from the air, there is an improvement in the fire situation.

"After an uninterrupted work of the forces on the ground and from the air, there is an improvement in the fire situation in the village of Grapsh in the municipality of Dropull and in the village of Kardhikaq in the municipality of Finiq, no longer presenting a danger to the residents and houses of the villages.

However, the operational forces of Dropulli, Gjirokastra, Tepelena, Përmet, Këlcyra, Memaliaj, Finiq, Saranda, Himara, Delvina and Konispoli continue the work to extinguish the fire, as the risk of reactivation of the fires still continues as a result of the change in wind speed.

The Armed Forces and the Cougar helicopter continue their support, while three FA firefighting vehicles have been added to this action. The situation is being followed closely by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Enkelejd Joti.

The National Civil Protection Agency also requested the support of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, from which three countries offered their assistance. The activation of two PZL planes is expected from Greece, as the country closest to the fires", the Ministry announces./ CNA
