CNA has been reporting for months that SPAK has launched an investigation against the head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, regarding the corrupt affairs in the institution he leads. A property investigation has even been launched against him and his family members. So Erion Veliaj is in the "sieve" of SPAK and is using any form to escape the law enforcement agencies.

Recently, one of his moves has caught everyone's attention. The mayor has closed his Instagram. He was very active in this social network, where his propaganda through videos and photos was not missing. 

Precisely at a moment where social networks have turned into "food" for SPAK to research the issues under investigation, this move comes from the mayor.

But we must clarify that the data, or any action taken on Erion Veliaj's Instagram page, is stored by the company Meta. Even if the account is not active, every previous action is recorded. 

Meta has all the data with details, for all the trial campaigns or "promotes" with sums of money that Veliaj may have made for various activities. 

Meta has data on any type of funding that Veliaj may have done on his Instagram page. SPAK can obtain information through a request it can make to this company.  Erion Veliaj should clarify, if he made other financings, who was the source of these sums of money.

We emphasize that hundreds and thousands of euros are spent on social networks during electoral campaigns. 

Veliaj is apparently on his own terms and is trying to find every maneuver to escape justice. But this time it is difficult. Its directors are behind bars, and their assets have even been seized./ CNA
