SPAK deepens the investigation into the directors of Veliaj, seizes assets on behalf of their family members

CNA reported a few months ago that SPAK is investigating the assets of the mayor Erion Veliaj and the directors of the Municipality of Tirana involved in corrupt affairs . (read here)

This investigation is being deepened with information that is being officially collected about dozens of companies and individuals who had connections with the directors of the "5D" file.

CNA reported that for the directors of the Municipality of Tirana, in addition to the accusations related to the "5D" company, there is a detailed investigation into their assets, how they invested these assets, what was the source of income that they used for the assets of theirs and so on.

This has been confirmed once again today, where SPAK, through an official announcement, announced that it has seized the "5D" company, whose "de facto" owners are Mariglen Qato and Redi Molla. Likewise, the assets of the family members of Redi Molla and Mariglen Qato have been seized.

Assets seized:

- The commercial company "5D Konstruksion" sh.pk, together with the real and movable assets owned by it, as a commercial company that has been used and has served as a means to carry out criminal offenses, which is allowed to be confiscated according to Article 36/ 1, letter (a) of the Criminal Code.
- Real estate of the land type with an area of ??506.25 m² and a building with an area of ??164 m², located on "Tefta Tashko" street, Tirana, registered in the name of citizens SM and OM, as an asset partially benefited from financing sources that -derived from products of criminal offense.
- Real estate of the land type with an area of ??51.3 m², located on "Tefta Tashko" street, Tirana, registered in the name of citizens SM and OM, as an asset partially benefited from financing sources derived from the proceeds of criminal offences.
-Commercial company "Restur" sh.pk, together with the immovable and movable assets owned by it, in the possession of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova, as assets whose value corresponds to the value of the product of the criminal offense and which can be confiscated based on in article 36/1 letter (ç) of the Criminal Code.
-The property of 24% of the shares in the trading company "Mediterranean Investment Group" sh.pk, with headquarters in Durrës, registered in the name of the trading company "Restur" sh.pk, with partner and administrator RM, as assets whose value corresponds to the value of the product of the criminal offense and which can be confiscated based on Article 36/1 letter (ç) of the Criminal Code.
-The real estate of the apartment type with a total area of ??122.7 m², with the designation B_43, as well as the properties parking No. P24 with a total area of ??42 m² and parking lot No. P25 with a total area of ??42 m², for which the contract of the enterprise between the SQ citizen and the company "5D Konstruksion" sh.pk, as property derived from the products of the criminal offense and for this reason it is property that can be confiscated.
- The real estate of the apartment type with a total area of ??86.4 m², with the designation A_42, for which the business contract dated 29.09.2023 was concluded between the SQ citizen and the company "5D Konstruksion" sh.pk, as an asset derived from the products of criminal offense and for this reason it is property that can be confiscated./CNA
