Fredi Beleri has held a face-to-face meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Palace.

Mitsotakis congratulated him on his election as a Greek MEP and expressed his belief that Bele,ri will fulfill his duties.

The Prime Minister of Greece hopes that Beleri will be released from prison very soon and that they will continue to move forward.

“I have many reasons, dear Fred, to be happy to welcome you today to Megaros Maximos. First, let me congratulate you on your election as a Greek MEP now, in Brussels and Strasbourg, with New Democracy. I am sure that you will fully fulfill your duties. Let me tell you how happy I am that this great adventure seems to be coming to an end. It goes without saying, you got the license so you could exercise your duties and take the oath. I hope that very soon you will be released from prison for good, that this painful chapter will be closed for all of us, that we can move forward, look forward," said Mitsotakis.

Beleri, on the other hand, thanked the Prime Minister of Greece for the support he gave him during this difficult period and that he will honor the trust they gave him in the ballot.

"I want to thank you personally for supporting me all this time. I will honor the trust you have placed in me by putting me on the European ballot. I think that the country we live in is not a self-evident rule of law, the right to choose and be chosen. I want to help them. To help the Greek national minority stay in their ancestral homes, but also for this country to come closer and become a member of the European family", he said./ CNA
