Dumani in the Assembly: 5 cities where we have documented corruption of justice

Krue of SPAK, Altin Dumani, during his report to the Assembly on the work of the structure he directs during 2023, said that the Public Prosecutor's Office continues its work based on the law. 

He emphasized that the corruption of justice officials has been evidenced in Durrës, Shkodër, Tirana, Laç and Fushë-Kruje. 

Meanwhile, Duman also underlined the lack of status of the prosecutor after the end of the mandate.

Duman's word: 

457 were investigated with security measures. We seized property worth 41 million euros. We have a duty to investigate and we do so according to the law. We investigate organized crime, today to be realistic, measures of arrest and imprisonment account for only 49%. Our measures account for only 8.5% of all prisoners in Albania. We lack the status of the prosecutor after the end of the mandate. We have a problem with the lack of referrals from public institutions. 

Investigations show that criminal groups are sophisticated mainly in the trafficking of hard drugs, they have international activity. They have dominant positions in international markets such as in South America, the European Union and England. We also have Call-Center malware groups, the damage they cause runs into millions of euros. 

In Tirana and the coastal areas, criminal groups are mainly involved in money laundering, while narcotics traffic has become a problem in Durrës, Vlora, Gjirokastër, Fier and Kurbin. Corruption of justice officials problematic in Durrës, Shkodër, Tirana, Laç and Fushë-Krujë.
