In a statement given to the media from the airport of Rinas, Fredi Beleri stated categorically that he will appeal the decision of the Special Court on the prison sentence. 

Meanwhile, as far as the elections in Himare are concerned, Beleri said that the people of Himare will give their answer to the government on August 4. 

"I am leaving for Athens. Tomorrow I will be in Strasbourg. I want to thank the Directorate of Prisons for this decision, it was a decision in accordance with the laws. Tomorrow there are important decisions and votes. I believe that from today I will return normality. Sooner or later, the sovereign's wish will be respected. On August 4, the Himariotes will give an answer and their wish will be respected in all the links of Albanian justice, and I will I also go to Strasbourg", Beleri said. 

Fredi Beleri has left Fier prison this morning, after receiving 5 days leave to be sworn in as an MEP from the "New Democracy" party of Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis.

It is learned that his freedom will last only 5 days, this permission approved by the General Directorate of Prisons. During the prison premises, he was received by his wife and the car of the Greek embassy.

He is heading to Athens and then he will travel to Strasbourg to be sworn in as an MEP in the European Parliament./ CNA
